I'm so excited about the plans Erick and I have for my bday. We were FINALLY able to get a reservation for The Melting Pot and then after that we're gonna see Reign Over Me. It's gonna be the BEST night EVAH!! We were really hoping to see Blades of Glory but it doesn't come out until the 30th. He he. That movie is so "us". We love that kind of humor - Joe Dirt, Zoolander, Anchorman, Spinal Tap....we dig it. So maybe we'll have to plan a date night so we can see that too.
Another thing we really wanna do is have a date night on April 11th. There's a local sushi chef giving a one-night course on how to make sushi. We thought that would be fun to do together since we both love sushi and have always wanted to learn how to make it ourselves. Looks like I'd better email Grandma Beth and Gramps to see if we can line up a couple of babysitting gigs. ; )
Oooh and you know what's coming up right? St. Patrick's Day! You know what that means.....Beer-Braised Corned Beef and Cabbage with Mashed Potatoes!! I only make this dish once a year (its really bad for you but sooooo good) and I am dying for St. Patrick's Day to be here already! One more week! One more week! You know how people get about Thanksgiving food? That's how I get about St. Patrick's Day food!! I haven't decided on a dessert yet. Right now I'm leaning towards these mini Orange & Chocolate Cheesecakes. I might look for something a little more "Irish" though. Oooh, maybe one of these:
Chocolate Orange Guinness Cake
Irish Coffee Cake
Alright, I have some random pics for you. I was sorting through my photos of the last month and found a few that I felt like sharing:
Kyla likes to pretend that she's drinking coffee like I do. As you can see, she's found a way to incorporate her sippy cup with my DST travel mug in a way where she can still have a drink!
She's also discovered the joy of dressing up!
On Saturday nights, Erick doesn't get home until 8:15pm but I usually let the girls stay up to say goodnight. It usually resorts in some rambunctious pre-bedtime tickle fights and wrestling:
McKenna, insisting that she get to sit in the Daddy chair. Erick bench presses the girls and then McKenna sits on his hand and balances like she's in the circus or something. It takes some serious team work on their part! LOL! I think they should take their show on the road:
This was just a pretty one of McKenna that I haven't quite figured out if it's scrappable yet. That Dora chair is an eyesore but I hate to scrap in b&w too often:
Here is McKenna's new tutu that I blogged about last week. She was freezing cold while I was trying to snap her photo so she started doing jumping jacks:
And McKenna has been so into taking pictures with our Canon. I'm actually really surprised that she's taken so many good ones. The only thing is the camera is a little heavy so the tops of our heads are often cut off! LOL! But she took this one of me - pretty good huh?
Finally, gotta show you this layout I did last night. It makes me laugh every time I see it. These two in the hooptie just crack me up! Credits here.
Time for sleep. No wait, dishes first. Then sleep. Boo.

I LOVE the Melting Pot and Irish food!
Ooooh, I love the Melting Pot! Kel and I might just have to plan a date night to go there. Yummy! Happy Birthday to you! (almost)
I like the St. Patty's tradition. That's cool. Why can't there be a euro-mutt day? That'd be wicked. We could have meatloaf or something. :)
Interesting fact: Rough-housing with dad before bedtime is good for kids. It teaches them how to calm down and adjust for different situations in an appropriate (hopefully) manner. (Like being able to transition from recess to the classroom.)
Have a good day!
HAHAHAHA! LOVE the Hooptie LO! Love it! They both look so thug. hahahahaha!
I wonder if all dads do that little girl bench press. That picture of Erick and McKenna looks almost identical to wrestling night
(maddy vs daddy)at my house. She loves to do that!
Argghhh!!!! Blogger ate my comment! Anyway, Hope your birthday is awesome! It's your 30th, right? Yea!
