My little slice of heaven

It's one of those happy, love all the little details kind of days. McKenna is at preschool so I'm excited for 1pm to roll around because I love to see her latest art projects. Kyla is napping. Erick just headed off to NAMM (which might I add, he got tickets to on his OWN media credentials for the first time ever! Huge milestone! Yay!) So that means he will be coming home with tons of free crap and stories of meeting his favorite rock stars. This is the highlight of his year (as a musician and EIC). He usually has to go wearing someone else's name badge which he obtained by asking a friend who knew a guy who knew a guy that could get them in. This year, it will be HIS name on his name badge. I smell a scrap page coming on.

My home is clean (well, is it ever perfectly clean? No. But it feels clean today). I had 2 new loads of laundry to be washed and miracle of miracles, I WASHED them before they multiplied into 10 loads again. My FIL just brought over his exercise bike for us. Erick has been Mr. Motivation and eating so well lately that it's rubbing off on the rest of us. He's already dropping the pounds and I'm so proud of him. His friend Mark is an expert on fitness and health so he's been helping Erick get this fantastic diet and exercise plan formulated and he's even helping me with my toning goals. Mark's the bomb.

I'm wearing a new pair of jeans that are a size smaller than the last pair I blogged about. Remember how excited I was that I was wearing my pre-pg size again? Well those babies are falling off my butt now. I had to go get a smaller size. Although, truth be told, I think that's because I have NO ass anymore (hence why I'm working on a toning goal).

I've got my coffee w/excellent creamer (cinnamon hazelnut) in my new coffee mug. Is it weird that I want to scrap a page about my mug? I know where that subconscious idea came from. It came from this crazy lady who can scrap about any and every subject that crosses her mind. But anyway, I heart my mug. It has a little crown on it and it says "Irish Princess". So cute! So what else makes my day? Fresh Yankee Candle tarts of course! I just bought a whole new batch (I'll list them for my curious tart-loving friends: Plumeria, Sweet Melon, Macintosh, Island Mango, Sweet Strawberry, Juicy Cherry, Sunflower Days). I'm burning Plumeria right now which I love because it smells like I just shampooed my carpets or something (which God knows I need to do!)

So you can see how this is a lovely start to my day. Clean home all to myself, clean clothes, skinny jeans, yummy coffee in a cute mug, fresh tart. Erick living his dream, McKenna enjoying school, Kyla sleeping well. That is a little slice of heaven right there. Not to mention my new InStyle arrived in the mail so a-woo a-hoo!

I'm slowly but surely catching up on those blogs. It ain't gonna happen in one day but I'm getting there! Note to self: Never take a day off from blog reading again. It's a downward spiral from there.

Ok so the scrapping community has apparently run out of things to scrap because someone keeps starting these cute little tag quizzes. But I am always game for a good tag quiz so "Let's blow this mother out!" (said like a Spartan cheerleader).

I was tagged by Ginonski Millerooski

WHAT SCRAPBOOKING PRODUCTS DO YOU DISLIKE?

Products that look too flat or clip-art like. And though I have nothing against them, most times, the tags are wasted on me. I rarely use tags. (Um, never mind the fact that I did use one on the LO below).

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER HAD TO SCRAP?

So far, nothing. But I've been putting off scrapping a page about my brother because I know that will take a lot of heartfelt journaling.

WHAT TECHNIQUE DO YOU USE MORE THAN ANY OTHER?

Photo filters and journaling are on most of my LOs.

EVER BEEN PUBLISHED?

Any day now! Digital Memories Magazine will have my "Cherish" LO in it.

WHAT IS THE SMALLEST SCRAP OF PAPER YOU SAVE?

I never keep loose papers. They have to be in a bound collection. And so I think my smallest is probably 8.5x11.

EVER HAD ANY SCRAPBOOK-RELATED INJURIES?

LOL What? Er. No. Well, I did just have a bad scenario where I got charged for something on my credit card that I didn't purchase. Need to contact the store about that. It put me over the limit and I got charged a nice $30 OTL fee.

FINISH THIS SENTENCE: "IF I WASN'T A SCRAPBOOKER, I WOULD SPEND MY MONEY ON..."

LOL ok, well the answer would be CLOTHES. But the truth is, I don't spend a lot of money on scrapping supplies. I've only had to pay for scrap supplies three times. I have spent a total of $45 on digital scrap supplies. The Canon Rebel XT we would've bought regardless. (Do any other Rebel users ever call their camera "my camera"? Because my sister and I always say "Get the Rebel!" instead of "Get the camera!" LOL!)

GIVE US YOUR BEST STORAGE OR ORGANIZATIONAL IDEA:

Organize your materials AS SOON AS you download them. Don't let them sit. Download, unzip, file properly. You'll stay on top of it and be super-mega organized that way.

YOU JUST WON A WEEK-LONG SCRAPPING CRUISE FOR 4. WHO IS GOING WITH YOU?

LOL Ok seriously. What? A scrapping cruise? If that is a real thing I will 1) make fun of it with great enthusiasm and then 2) BOOK MYSELF A TICKET because hello! Fun! Do I get to just scrap poolside all afternoon?? Will a cabana boy named Agador Spartacus serve me fruity umbrella drinks? I am there baby! Ok, and I would take (does it have to be just scrappers? I'll say yes just in case). My sister, Alyson, Gina and Julie.

TAGS

If you're a scrapper on my blog roll and you have NOT been tagged with this quiz yet...then consider yourself tagged! Since I'm still catching up on blogs, I have no idea who has taken this quiz yet. (LOL, sorry Jen for back-tagging you last time!)

By the by - Some of you post comments and you don't have links to your blogs in your profiles! If that's intentional and you want to be kept undercover ; ) then that's ok. But if not, add your blog address because I'd love to check out your blog too!

Recent LO's:

This is a 2-pager. I realized that I had too much to say about this event so I did one photo LO and one journaling LO.

Happy Perfect Day! You deserve it! :) Tell Erick congrats! If he can come speak to my journalism class, I'd be forever in his debt! (AND he could then write off your trip as a work-related expense!)

I'm just sayin'!

Thanks for taking me on the cruise! haha

I loved your layout and the journaling was so tender. I love reading what you have written!

Perfect days sure make up for the not so perfect ones. Enjoy it and look back with fondness.

YAY! Its good to have a great day! Brad and I are on the fitness streak too (HELLO, it IS January.. check back in March and see if we're still this gung ho!) But no, I think this time we really are, both of us are entirely too jiggly for our tastes! We got that chuck norris totaly trainer thing!
It sounds like you had a great day and I HIGHLY recommend scrapping about that mug! haha! Or maybe even those Yankee Tart you rave about!

Oh send that kind of perfection my way why don't you! I could use a day like that!

And yes, there is such thing as a scrapping cruise. I think Creating Keepsakes magazing sponsored one a year or two ago. I can't remember exactly, but I think we should look into sponsoring a digi-scrapping cruise because I would be right there poolside with my laptop scrapping away. Really, I think digi-scrapping lends itself more to cruising, because working with all that paper and glue in the sun just doesn't sound that fun to me!

Yup- there are really scrapping cruises. Something about all of that water near my laptop doesn't sound too enticing to me though. LOL!

haha I KNEW I was going to be found at the end of that link. I don't know many people that scrap their coffee mugs.

Sounds like a good day!

That is a good day!! Tell Erick I'm extremely proud of him! I can't wait to hear how it went!!
OMG! I don't care if it's a scrapping cruise or not, a cruise with the five of us you mentioned would ROCK!!! Actually I have a feeling that sitting in an empty room with the 5 of us would be fun!!
