McKenna is LOUD!

I don't think I ever realized it but she is REALLY loud! I find myself saying "shhhh" all throughout the day because she just is at top decibel. And of course, because she's three, she is talking non-stop. It's nothing bad or even bratty (most of the time). Just LOUD! LOL! My sister said it's because she watches Dora the Explorer who is always encouraging the kids to yell at the top of their lungs all the time! Ha ha!!

Today after Erick got home, we went to dinner and Kyla had her first corn-on-the-cob which she declared as "Ummmmm" (yum). McKenna was kind enough to feed her sister ice cream with sprinkles for dessert. I'm just amazed at how different Kyla seems the past few days, responding to the things we say, using her manners, just grasping what we're saying and interacting so well. Saying "Out please" (ow peez) when she wants out of her high chair and "More please" (mo peez) when she wants something. Today she was sitting on my lap while I was at the computer and she pointed to Kimberly's avatar and said "Whossat?" (Who's that?) I said "That's Kimberly." And she said "Ki-ah-eeeee!" So cute to hear her little voice in conversation like that.

After dinner, Erick and McKenna went to Best Buy (for ink cartridges and the Care Bears Big Wish Movie) and Kyla and I went to Target for Valentine goodies. I got the girls both a stuffed animal, some stickers, some miniature baby princess dolls and a shirt for Kyla and a dress for McKenna. When we met up with Kenna and Erick again, McKenna was asking over and over again "Can I see my Valentine surprises?" I kept telling her "Uuuuuummmmm, NO!" Then she asked Kyla "Kyla....can YOU tell me what my Valentine surprise is?" Kyla said "Uuummmm, NO!" Ha ha!

Ok, just a side note. A few weeks ago, Erick and I went to see Children of Men (excellent movie, mediocre final 5 minutes) and they showed this preview beforehand. I am so anxious to see this movie. Both the song and the theme of the movie are so inspiring to me and I feel like it'll be good for my heart to see it.

Hmm, strange observation - the stars of both of those films starred together in King Arthur - another awesome movie.

So Children of Men was pretty good? I wanted to see that. Amazing Grace looks really good too.

How cute that Kyla is becoming a big girl! Pretty soon you're going to start your blog with "get me some ear plugs...McKenna and Kyla are LOUD!"

we have promotional material for amazing grace- the college Tim went to did some work for the film and all alumni received promo material and some sneak peaks. It does look good and we will definitely be seeing it as well.

Oh my goodness, I am so glad that I am not the only one with a loud child. My little nephews are the same age as Zoe and they are both so quiet. Personally I blame Kelly. He is Italian and SOOOO loud. His inside voice is the level of most people's outside voice. It is no wonder Zoe gets confused. :)

Kyla is getting so BIG! I love those days when they talk but everything comes out in "baby code" speak. hahahaha!

Mel is SO right about Dora! She IS loud! At first, I was indifferent about the fact that Maddy started liking Spongebob more than Dora but now I actually appreciate it because she's not yelling "WE DID IT! WE DID IT!" ...at most she'll say "I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready"..like SpongeBob does after she's dressed, which is hilarious and not annoying like Dora.
