She did great!

She slept until 8am with no problems. Erick and I peeked in on her before we went to bed. Its a good thing they put railings on that bed because she was pressed up against it and her legs were dangling over the side. She'd have fallen off for sure without the railings. (Not that its a far drop but it would certainly have woken her!)

When she woke up this morning, I heard her talking to her baby dolls like she always does. So I got up and got her breakfast ready. By the time I went to get her (about 10 minutes) she'd decided to get out of bed and stand in the drawer that came with the bed. It's wasn't at all dangerous but I don't want her to break the drawer so we might have to find a way to secure that shut.

Naptime was a tiny bit more of a challenge but not much. She got out of bed several times. So I would go in there, put her back in and tell her she needed to take a nap and she couldn't get out of her bed. It took about 3 times but she finally fell asleep and slept for her usual 2 hours.

The fun thing about her new bed is that her bedroom is re-arranged so that its safe for her to be in there unsupervised (not that I let her close the door or anything. I can still check in on her frequently). Today she spent lots of time playing in there and that really gave me a chance to get some chores done AND some things for her birthday party tomorrow!

Hi Shannon--You don't know me, but I just wanted to let you know I read your blog pretty regularly and I love hearing about your precious child! I found out about the blog from Relevant, and now check it out for new pics and info pretty often. It's so helpful to learn about early childhood stuff from a new mommy. I'm not there yet, but I'm about to get married, and kids will come later on (hopefully it'll be a little while, though!) and it's such great info for me to tuck away for later.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know someone is reading your funny updates!

Take care
Lauren K.
