I KNOW WHERE HE'S TAKING ME!

OMG, this whole time I was guessing someplace like Carmel or maybe as far as Arizona to see the Grand Canyon or something. But no, he had something much more romantic in mind then that.

My sweet, loving, romantic, thoughtful husband is planning a trip for us to.......

HAWAII!!

We're staying at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu! Secluded beaches, a full spa, delicious food, 30 miles from Waikiki beach and shopping and snorkling! Since we'll be on the infamous North Shore, Erick is planning to do some surfing and I'll do some tanning. Maybe get a massage! I did let him talk me into at least one surf lesson though so maybe I'll do that more then I think I will? We'll go to a luau one night (yay!) and of course since we'll be on Oahu we have to see Pearl Harbor since that is one of those "must-see" places in life. And Erick and I always love going to zoos together so if we have time we'll probably visit the Honolulu zoo as well (LOL now you know why he asked my favorite animal!) The question about my favorite color? He was planning to go shopping at Hilo Hattie for a sarong in my favorite color and a matching shirt for himself. Awww! We are not a matchy-matchy couple but he wanted everything to be so perfect that he even thought of that!

I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it! Erick went to bed early last night (he gets up at 5am on Mondays) and I was just lying in bed so excited that I couldn't even sleep! I leaned over and gave him a big giant kiss on the cheek. He didn't even wake up, he was so dead to the world. LOL! But I didn't care. I was just so excited and thought he was so sweet to come up with this that I had to give him a kiss.

I also think it's so sweet that he wasn't able to keep it from me. He didn't tell me but when I asked him "Will I need a bathing suit?" and he said "Yes" it hit me - "Are we going to Hawaii??" He tried to lie but he couldn't do it. His face totally gave him away. Then he cursed me for guessing it right and ruining the surprise. But I thought it was kind of a cute testament to what our marriage is like - we've never been able to surprise each other because we tell each other everything! I'm actually glad to know early. 1) I was still VERY surprised and 2) I'm a planner and I'm glad I will be able to pack properly and can prepare for a longer flight (as opposed to what I expected - a 3 or 4 hour drive!). And this actually makes it easier for me to feel good about leaving the kids. I'll still feel sad leaving them but if it's for something that is romantic and will be one of those opportunities to make my marriage even closer then it's worth it to me and not something I would pass up. I'm just grateful that my sister and my brother-in-law seem excited about taking the girls. I would feel really apprehensive about going otherwise. But I know they'll take care of my girls like they would want their own to be taken care and that my girls will feel loved and comfortable every moment they are there. Not to mention they're going to love getting to play with their cousins for 4 days!! The funniest part is that my sister said she's most looking forward to doing McKenna's hair since she usually only gets to style boy hair. LOL!

I'm just beside myself with excitement! YIPEE FOR HAWAII!!

Wow!!! What a surprise!!! Is this an early anniversary thing or just because?

So sweet, as usual, the way he planned it.

Have a great time! It's just 2 weeks away!!!

And my sister and her husband went to Hawaii and stayed at the same resort for their anniversary! She says that she saw almost everything that's in the movie '50 First Dates' so if you haven't seen it, check it out!

How fun!!! And how SWEET on Erick's part.

Be prepared. Pearl Harbor is super emotionally draining. So worth it, but so sad. =(

The North Shore is awesome. Make sure to eat lunch at Kua 'Aina. The grilled eggplant sandwiches are so good (and I hear the burgers are great, too). =)

You will have a great time! I've been to Hawaii twice and we are going for our vacation this November. I would go every year if I could! ;) Make sure to find a Hawaiian Ice shack. They are so good and they put a scoop of macadamian nut ice cream at the bottom. Yummy!

Wow, that's awesome. I'd love to go to Hawaii someday, but it's a little harder to get there from Alabama than it is from the West coast! What a huge surprise!

OH! And what Stephanie said! Make sure to get the Shave Ice with ice cream on the bottom! I got raspberry with vanilla bean on the bottom. Mike got it sans ice cream, and to this day, he regrets it! LOL. AND I heart your dad! haha. Uncle Henry, you rock! :)
